Pound Cake Recipe




Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon corn flour

  • 1 ¼ cups sugar

  • 4 eggs

  • 2 sticks (228g) butter

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • Instructions:

    1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and prepare a loaf pan with grease.

    2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, corn flour, and baking powder until well combined.

    3. Using a food processor or mixer, combine the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Process or mix for approximately 10 seconds.

    4. Gradually pour the melted butter into the running food processor or mixer over a period of about 30 seconds.

    5. Gently fold the wet butter mixture into the dry flour mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

    6. Pour the prepared batter into the greased loaf pan.

    7. Bake in the preheated oven for 55 minutes to 1 hour, or until the cake is a rich golden brown.

    8. To check for doneness, insert a toothpick into the center of the cake. It should come out with a few moist crumbs attached.

    9. Allow the pound cake to cool in the loaf pan for a short period before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.

    10. For optimal slicing, ensure the cake is fully cooled (approximately 2 hours).

    11. Serving and Enjoying: Once the cake is fully cooled

    12. transfer it to a cutting board. Use a serrated knife to slice the pound cake into even portions.

    13. Serve and savor the rich, buttery flavor and tender crumb of your homemade golden pound cake.

    14. It is delicious on its own or can be enjoyed with fresh berries, whipped cream, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
