Ragda patties (Aloo tikki chat) recipe

 Ragda patties is a North Indian chat recipe.



Ingredients for ragada( chickpeas) curry

Yellow peas - 1 cup
Onion - 2 medium sized(100 gm)
Tomato - 1 medium sized 
Ginger garlic paste - 1 teaspoon
Red chilly powder - 1 teaspoon
Green Chilly -2
Tamarind pulp - 1 tablespoon
Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Chilly powder -1 teaspoon
Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon

Ingredients for cutlet

Potatoes - 3 medium sized
Red chilly powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Chat masala - 1/2 teaspoon
Coriander leaves 
Poha - 2 table spoon (grind into the powder)
Salt

Preparation

Soak the yellow peas overnight or 5 hours.
Heat oil in kadai, add cumin seeds and chopped green chilly, leave it to sizzle.


Add onion, saute it, add ginger garlic paste, saute it for 5 minutes.


Add finely chopped tomato, saute it, till the tomato dissolves.


Add all masala powder saute it for 2 minutes.


Add cooked yellow peas and water, leave it for 15 minutes.


 finally add 1 tablespoon of tamarind pulp.
Leave it for 5 minutes.


Finally garnish with coriander.



For potatoes

Cook the potatoes well, smash it.
Add chilly powder, chat masala, salt, turmeric powder and finely chopped coriander. Mix it well.
Grind 2 table spoons of poha, add it, and mix it well.
Make a thick disc, fry it on both sides.
Mint chutney, in mixie jar add few mint, coriander, green chilly, garlic. salt and few drops of lemon juice. grind it

To serve

Take cutlet in plate, pour yellow peas curry, curd, finelly chopped onion, mint chutney, sweat tamarind chutney on top. Finally garnish with sev.

Yellow rice with chicken curry

  Yellow rice made with turmeric powder and saffron goes well with chicken curry.
